What is Yin Yoga?

Yin Yoga is a slow, deep, non-muscular contraction method of performing Yoga Asana meditatively. The practice focuses directly on the meridians/ connective tissue/fascia and allows us to create space between the joints thus creating space in our minds and emotional bodies. The concept of Yin yoga has been around for thousands of years. Holding yoga poses for a significant amount of time has always been crucial to yoga practice, both in the Hatha and Taoist traditions. Some teachers have suggested that Yin yoga is actually the oldest form of Hatha yoga, pointing out the fact that they are both effective methods of prolonged meditation that aid in physical conditioning.

Mantra – The Yoga of Sound
Why chant? Chanting a mantra, a sacred text, a name of a deity, god or goddess, is a powerful spiritual practice, like prayer, chant can be a component of either a group or a personal practice. Chant is considered a route to spiritual development and is soothing, healing, calming, connecting and extremely meditative.

Chanting/ Sound therapy is able to dissolve crystallization of potentially harmful energies long before they reach the physical body. Thus it is pure preventative medicine.

Through the regular use of chanting / sound therapy, combined with intention, we may begin to vibrate faster at a cellular or molecular level. This is what is meant by “raise your frequency.” The higher rate of vibration creates larger spaces between the cells, making us less dense and preventing negative or intrusive energies from sticking to us easily.

We literally raise our vibration to higher frequencies when we chant, and in that we raise the vibration of frequency of all those around us, our hearts open and we feel a deep sense of peace and connection. Connection to something much bigger and more beautiful than words alone can describe.
